Ayton is a small village in the Scottish Borders, some three miles from Eyemouth and six miles north of Berwick-upon-Tweed. The village has an excellent village shop and a public house. There is more varied shopping in Eyemouth and Berwick-upon-Tweed. The village lies adjacent to the A1 road, making is very accessible for commuters both north and south. The transport links are excellent, with railway stations at Reston (3 miles) and Berwick-upon-Tweed (6 miles). The nearest airport is Edinburgh (57 miles).
There is a short drive to some of the best beaches in the county at Coldingham and St Abbs, which is renowned for diving.
